You wouldn't have misspelled "perfect" if you had perfect spelling.

The first sentence is a run on. You made the common mistake of comma splicing your sentence.

The 2nd sentence isn't in proper MLA formatting either.

You even failed at "l337 sp34k" because you didn't replace ANY letters with numbers.

I believe that "perfekt" is a common German spelling. I'd cut him/her some slack, but that's just me.

This thread makes me want to giggle wildly. It's nice to see mostly coherent messages. Most of what I see in my guild confuses me so I stop reading it.

I am a bit of a stickler for grammar, but we all make mistakes. The hardest part is that for most people criticizing others, it doesn't even occur to them that they might be from a different country. Not every English speaking country uses the exact same phrasing or vocabulary.

It is fun to have a good laugh at things that take on new meaning (such as asscolon) but I have seen some people fly off the handle because someone spelled something wrong.

I also find it amusing that the OP, who it seems is obvious is not a native English speaker, is criticizing a simple mispelling while having a post filled with so many errors.

Depends on pronunciation. If it "sounds" like a silent h, they will use an, which is correct.

For example, in the US we pronounce "herb" with a silent h. If you give a chicken an herb rub you use an not a. In Britain they (at least some, I can't speak for all british regional pronunciations) say "H"erb as in Herbie the Love Bug. So they shouldn't us "an" and use "a".

I have also noticed a lot of people type "what" as "wut" or "wot", which I thought was lazy until some australians joined our guild and heard them speak on vent. They pronounce it just like that. While that isn't the correct spelling, I can understand now why they are typing it phoneticly.

That'd be me having a problem differentiating between 'an' and 'a'.. not in the general 'You need a hug' sense but.. is it 'you're an idiot' or 'you're a idiot'?
